DODA, Oct 12: Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Mahajan, while inspecting the installation of the first lintel for the under-construction multi-storey car parking/bus stand project in Doda today, urged the relevant department to expedite the completion of this important project.
The goal is to alleviate the frequent traffic jams and congestion in Doda town, providing relief to commuters. The construction work for this substantial project, valued at Rs 32 crores, is progressing swiftly and is expected to meet the set timeline, fulfilling the long-standing aspirations of the people of Doda.
The first phase, covering an area of approximately 5000 sq feet, saw the installation of a concrete lintel today. The ceremony was attended by DC Doda, President Municipal Council Doda Ved Prakash Gupta, SE PWD (R&B) RP Gupta, Executive Engineer PWD Division Doda, EO MC Doda and other relevant officials.
DC Doda directed the authorities to ensure the next phase of the lintel is completed before Diwali. He also conducted a comprehensive review of the overall construction progress and engaged with the relevant authorities to discuss ways to accelerate the project’s execution.
To ensure smooth progress, DC Doda instructed the executive officer to clear any unwanted structures near the construction site that might impede the project. Speaking to the media, DC Doda expressed confidence that the ongoing work on this substantial project would be completed within the given timeline.
Furthermore, DC Doda announced that the district administration has plans to alleviate traffic congestion in the town by commencing work on Ghat road, Parmaaz road and the proposed road connectivity from Ganpat bridge to Dessa road.
Upon returning home, DC Doda encountered a traffic situation and promptly issued directives to address incorrectly parked vehicles.
