DC for expeditious execution of Devika Rejuvenation Project

Udhampur, Nov 19: Deputy Commissioner, Niraj Kumar today convened a meeting with the officers of Urban Environment Engineering Department (UEED) and Municipal Council and Committees to review the pace of progress on the project envisaging rejuvenation of holy Devika river.
Superintending Engineer UEED, CEO MC Udhampur, Ex-En UEED, EO MC Chenani and EO MC Ramnagar attended the meeting.
The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the ongoing and proposed works of Municipal Council and Committees and directed them to identify spots for the construction of dumping sites and deploy vehicles for disposing off the same.
The Chief Executive Officer MC Udhampur apprised the DC that about 512 beneficiaries have been identified under IHL (Individual Household latrines) while 1512 beneficiaries have been identified under the scheme ‘Housing for All’.
The Executive Officer Ramnagar informed that about 415 beneficiaries have been identified in Ramnagar under these schemes.
Detailed discussion was also held on various issues like construction of cattle sheds for curbing the menace of stray animals, street vendors’ rehabilitation plan, measures to reduce the traffic congestion etc.
Among others ACR Subhash Chander Dogra besides other district officers were also present in the meeting.
