GANDERBAL, Apr 18: The Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shyambir, who also serves as the Chairman of the District Cooperative Development Committee (DCDC), convened a meeting today aimed at enhancing the cooperative movement within the district.
The meeting focused on the implementation of various schemes designed to bolster the cooperative sector and empower local communities.
The DC was briefed on several initiatives including the establishment of Common Service Centers (CSCs) and Kisan Sampada Kendras (KSKs). These initiatives aim to diversify the business activities of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) and transform them into dynamic economic entities.
It was highlighted that all 13 PACS registered in the district have embraced Model Byelaws and set up CSCs and KSKs, demonstrating a commitment to progress and development.
The DC urged all committee members to collaborate closely to realize the objectives.
He emphasized the importance of strengthening the cooperative ecosystem and assured unwavering support from the District Administration to achieve the outlined targets.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani; ACP, CAHO, CAO, CHO, AD Handicrafts & Handloom, District Development Manager, NABARD and other concerned.
