DC holds prominent citizens meeting

Kathua, Aug 9: Deputy Commissioner, Kathua, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, convened a meeting of prominent citizens social activists, heads of political parties, NGOs, Bas Association, Transporters, Business Establishments and Associations.
The informal meeting was organised for better coordination among the citizens and administration on all issues faced by district and also to ensure social and communal harmony in the district.
SSP Kathua Mohan Lal, ADDC Narinder Bali, CEO Lakhanpur-Sarthal Development Authority and other senior officers of district administration were also present on the occasion.
The DC assured that the administration is taking all the important developmental and social issues proactively and called for public support in all endeavors of district administration. He impressed upon the citizens for working with administration as a team. Meanwhile, terming blockade of national highway frequently by some groups as a grave security threat in wake of infiltration bids across the international border and other security inputs, he asked the people to prevail upon such groups to restrain from such acts which apart from being a punishable crime are also threat to life of masses. He informed that in case of any grievance the administration is available at doorsteps for immediate redressal.
Various organisations projected various issues including development of morning walkers park, creation of parking, development of bus stand, decongestion of traffic, equitable development of all wards, sanitation in town, condition of school education and other developmental issues. The DC assured the citizens to take every such matter on priority and ensure development in a time bound manner. He informed that a detailed meeting on various issues will be convened by administration in near future for redress of all issues.
