DC holds public darbar at Samba

Samba, May 11: Deputy Commissioner Samba, Sheetal Nanda today held a public darbar at Dak Bungalow and heard  various issues and grievances raised by the public regarding irregular supply of ration, quality of water and pending pension cases.
The DC directed the PHE Department to get the water samples of various sources tested and make sure that water unfit for drinking purposes is not supplied to the public.
Regarding pension cases, DSWO Samba, Mushtaq Chowdhary informed that all eligible beneficiaries need to provide Aadhaar and Bank Account number and application without these shall not be accepted. He also informed that under HUNAR Scheme the Social Welfare Department will organise skill enhancement programmes for the girls of the district.
The DC directed AD CAPD to enquire in to the public complaints about irregular supply of ration in few areas. ACD Samba informed that pending wages under NREGA will be released soon. He also clarified regarding the new guidelines regarding Indira Awaas Yojana to all present.
The public also complained about the inflated Electricity Bills in reply to which the DC asked the PDD to display rates of electricity outside his office and also all other PDD/Government offices.The DC appealed to the participants to get the electric meters installed and pay as per the use of energy.
She also appealed to all present to construct toilets in there houses and instructed BDO Samba to guide and help them in this regard.
The darbar was also attended by ADC Samba Pawan Sharma,ACD Samba Tilak Raj, Xen PHE, PWD, CMO Samba, Medical Superintendent Samba and district heads of various departments.
