KATHUA, Jan 17: Deputy Commissioner, Rahul Pandey inaugurated a 3-Day Multimedia Exhibition on “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” and other centrally sponsored schemes, organized by the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting at Govt Degree College, here today.
The event is part of various outreach activities being organised by CBC in the Union Territory of J&K and Ladakh.
The three day long exhibition will showcase the freedom struggle of India through a series of photo exhibitions as well as audio-visual media. Apart from this, a special section in the exhibition has been dedicated to G20 Summit India. A separate corner for ‘Azadi Quest’- recently launched online educational video game and Swaraj, a 75 episode mega serial of Doordarshan portraying stories of unsung heroes of India’s freedom struggle is also part of the exhibition.
The Deputy Commissioner appreciated the efforts of the CBC Kathua in organising the multimedia exhibition and urged people to visit dedicated corners for “Azadi Quest” and ‘Swaraj’ and download the video game for an insight into the freedom struggle of India.
The Deputy Commissioner also highlighted various aspects of infrastructure as an asset class, promoting quality infrastructure investment and identifying innovative instruments for mobilizing financial resources for infrastructure investment.
The Joint Director CBC Jammu, Ghulam Abass gave a detailed overview of the functioning structure and working of CBC in the twin UTs of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. He also briefed the audiences about various outreach activities that will be organised during the event.
Later, Additional Director General Rajinder Choudhary visited the exhibition venue and took stock of arrangements. He praised the efforts of CBC Kathua for making the arrangement so well.
Expert lectures from the representatives of KVIB, Employment department, Higher Education department and Health department were also delivered on the various centrally sponsored schemes like National Social Assistance programme and Pradhanmantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana.
The artists from CBC J&K presented colourful theme based dance items, while an open quiz competition was also organised which witnessed a huge participation of youth.
The programme culminated with prize distribution.
