DC inaugurates Civil Heliport at Kargil

KARGIL, Aug, 29: Deputy Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer, (LAHDC) Kargil, Vikas Kundal today inaugurated Civil Heliport at Kargil. The structure with its facilities of sanitary, frisking, waiting room has been constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 54 lakh.
After inaugurating the Civil Heliport, the DC went around the Helipad and instructed the officers of KREDA to install separate Solar Panel on the roof of the Civil Heliport structure. He also directed the Executing Agency, Public Works Department to construct Helicopter Hanger building near the Helipad to facilitate the helicopters for their stay.
He said efforts are afoot to provide all possible facilities to Pawan Hans authorities so as to ensure maximum helicopter services to the passengers. He said development of Padum, Drass and Kargil Helipads is our priority as the area is cut off during the winter season.
The DC asked the Tourism Department to display sceneries of historical places of Kargil district in the building of Civil Heliport and also directed them to ensure better facilities like Nescafe, furniture and TV for the passengers during their visit.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner took stock of the macadamization work of the approach road of the Helipad and asked the concerned to develop the boundary wall of the Helipad.
Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Sonam Chasjore, Executive Engineer, PWD Abdul Matalib, Executive Officer, Municipal Committee, Abdul Gaffar Zargar, Assistant Director Information Abdul Ahad Bhat, Assistant Director Tourism, Aga Toha, Headquarter Assistant to DC, Mohd Shabir and other senior concerned officers of KREDA and revenue Departments were present on the occasion.
