KATHUA, May 12: Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rahul Pandey today visited Government Medical College & Associated Hospital to take stock of ongoing works and medical facilities being provided to the patients. He was accompanied by Principal GMC & AH Kathua Dr. Anjali Nadir Bhat, XEN PWD (R&B) Vinod Kumar, AEE JKPCC & other concerned officers.
At the outset, the DC enquired about the status of ongoing construction works of the hospital Viz. construction of Compound Wall & Gate, building for teaching staff, Civil & Electrical works of Girls Hostel & Non-teaching staff, Construction of 200 bedded medical block and 30 bedded isolation ward facility.
The DC directed XEN PWD (R&B) to ensure early completion of ongoing works as the same will be reviewed during his next visit.
The DC also inspected patient care facilities including OPD, SNCU, Dialysis Unit, IPD, Blood Bank, Ophthalmology Dept, Operation theatres and took appraisal of daily footfall of patients in the OPD.
Inquiring about the number of patients availing Ayushman Bharat Golden Card facility, he directed the concerned officers to devise a mechanism to use OPD as source for AB-PMJAY Health Card registration. “This is one of the easiest ways to cover maximum people under AB-PMJAY by registering them at the OPD, besides sensitizing and making them aware about the benefits of the Scheme” he said.
He further directed the hospital staff to have a systematic display of Information viz. Doctors’ Room numbers, Duty Chart, provision of dedicated counters for Women, Provision of Security etc. so as to facilitate the patients.
