RAJOURI, Aug 31: Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, today conducted surprise inspection of Tehsil office and scrutinized records of different sections.
Detailed inspection was conducted in different sections involved in issuance of revenue extracts, voter lists, PRCs, character certificate, income certificate, relief cases and other important services related to land and revenue.
A number of lapses were noticed during the 2-hour long inspection and concerned officials were reprimanded. A target of one week was set for improving work culture and instilling transparency in the working system. Officials were directed for prompt service delivery.
Tehsildar Rajouri was directed to make immediate disbursement of Rs 25 lakh rental compensation in favour of land owners, hold daily camp for one hour to issue certificates to students, take immediate action for inhibiting people found acting as agents for processing certificates and take action against such elements.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner accompanied by Executive Engineer PWD, S. A. Wani, Tehsildar, Salam Din Chouhan, EO MC Rajouri, Manzoor Lone and field staff of revenue and PWD inspected the approach road from main road to district court complex. Plans for expansion/widening of road and removal of bottlenecks were discussed at different spots.
Dr. Shahid issued directions to both revenue and PWD officers for submission of proposal for widening of road with 2 days for enabling the process to be started for improving the road to double lane specification. The widening of road will be taken up in current financial year along with resurfacing.
Officers were also directed for formulation of estimates and plan for development of court complex and infrastructure for bar association premises inside the court complex.
Departments were also directed for immediate start of work on approach road from court complex chowk to Hamilton Bridge for providing alternate connectivity to the town.
