JAMMU, May 14: To get first-hand account of the public grievances, Deputy Commissioner, Avny Lavasa today conducted an extensive tour of Khour and Kharaballi and listened to the issues and grievances of the public faced by them in day to day life.
The PRI representatives including DDC members highlighted the issues one by one regarding their respective areas which were mainly related to irregular supply of water and electricity, Revenue services, delay in land compensation, issuance of ration cards, PMAY houses, Road connectivity, drinking water availability, repair and installation of hand pumps, services in health centres etc.
The Deputy Commissioner gave a patient hearing to and passed on the spot directions to the concerned departments for early redress of the genuine grievances projected on the occasion.
She assured that all the issues of public importance will be taken up with higher authorities while the pendency and public service delivery slackness shall be reviewed thoroughly.
The Deputy Commissioner also convened a meeting with the district officers and reviewed the progress under the flagship government schemes including SWAMITVA, writing of Jamabandis, PMAY, KCC etc.
The concerned official apprised the Deputy Commissioner that the first survey regarding SVAMITVA has been completed and second survey has been already initiated.
Survey of villages and mapping with improvised technology in village areas) scheme aims to provide rural people with the right to document their residential properties so that they can use the same for economic purposes.
The concerned official also informed that writing of Jamabandis was in full swing and will be completed soon.
