KARGIL, Aug 25: Deputy Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer, LAHDC Kargil, Vikas Kundal today asked the officers of Revenue Department and 55 RCC Project Vijayak to assess the encroachments on National Highway from Zojila to Kargil and put all out efforts to remove the same.
This instruction was given by the Deputy Commissioner during a meeting convened to discuss and review the pace of progress on various developmental works under execution in different sectors in district Kargil here today.
The DC asked the concerned to take measures for safety on accidental Black Spots from Zujila to Khangral and also at Shataan Nallah and Shilkacy areas. He also asked the R & B Department to install crash bearers on NH03.
The Superintendent of Police, Dr Pawan Kumar was asked to upgrade the Tool Free NO 100 at various places including Sankoo, Drass, Hanskote, Shargole and Kargil Town. He also asked him for installation of hoardings.
Taking stock of the facilities of ambulance on National Highway, the Chief Medical Officer, Mohd Ibrahim was instructed to ensure early functioning of Blood Unit Centre at Drass. The DC stressed for exploring of possibility for two Critical Care Ambulances at Wakha and Drass stations.
The DC also directed the 55RCC to develop the park of Kargil War Memorial on priority. He also asked them to construct toilet unit at Wakha village.
The Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Kargil was asked to upgrade the cell number of new Superintendent of Police Kargil in a road safety Application.
The DC also asked the ARTO to cancel licences of those who are done wrong parking. The DC also asked him for reviewing the challans also.
Threadbare discussion was held on various traffic issues including DC Office road, Kannor to Sapi road, Zanaskar road and Iqbal Bridge to Petrol Pump Kargil.
The DC directed the concerned to expedite the construction on approach roads of Kannor Bridge and complete the same within a fortnight.
