DC Kargil seeks inputs for Zanskar Master Plan

KARGIL, May 24: Deputy Commissioner and CEO LAHDC, Kargil Vikas Kundal today convened a meeting of the district officers to discuss the arrangements being put in place for simultaneous plantation drive in the district in connection with the Environment Day on 5th of June.
Divisional Forest Officer and In Charge plantation drive Muhammad Ali informed the meeting that a target of 1 lakh 15 thousand 3 hundred and 71 saplings have been set to be planted as per the annual action plan set under District Plan, CAMPA and CAT this year.
Issues with regard to the appointment of nodal officers and In Charge plantation locations for different divisions in the district were discussed threadbare. The DC was informed that to carry out the simultaneous drive 21 locations for Zanskar, 17 for Sankoo, 13 for Drass, 7 for Kargil and Shargole while as 6 locations have been earmarked for Chiktan area.
The Deputy Commissioner while impressing upon the officers to make all out efforts to accomplish the set plantation target within the allotted 3 hours time directed them to personally monitor the plantation of saplings besides planting saplings by themselves as well.
Meanwhile the DC also directed the officers of MC, Education, Fisheries, Health, Agriculture, R&B, Tourism, PHE, Horticulture, Industries, Animal Husbandry and other concerned departments to furnish inputs for the compilation of Zanskar Master Plan within the stipulated period of time so that the plan is put into public domain at the earliest possible.
While enquiring about the status of installation of biometric attendance system in Government offices in the district, the DC directed the officers to ensure the installation of biometric attendance machines in the offices under their control without further delay.
To complete the process the DC set 30th May, 2018 as the deadline.
