DC Kargil takes stock of healthcare logistics, works related to COVID management

KARGIL, May 18 : In order to take stock of the status of healthcare logistics and works related to COVID-19 management , Deputy Commissioner, Kargil, Santosh Sukhadeve convened a meeting with the concerned district officers at DC Office here, today.
Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kargil, Dr Munawar Hussain Wazir, Executive Engineer, PDD Kargil, Altaf Hussain, Executive Engineer Mechanical, Division Er Ved Prakash, District Immunization Officer (DIO), Kargil, Dr Muhammad Abbas, besides other concerned officers were present during the meeting.
During the meeting, DC Santosh Sukhadeve directed the concerned officers to ensure completion of vaccination of the left over beneficiaries under the 45 plus age group at the earliest possible. He also instructed to identify the number of remaining beneficiaries under this age category.
Stressing on the need to make sure round the clock power supply at the Dedicated COVID-19 Hospital Kargil, the Deputy Commissioner directed the Executive Engineer, Mechanical Division to install the DG Set there besides also taking measures to see that all necessary precautions are taken to avoid any instance of short circuit.
Regarding the fire safety audit of the Dedicated COVID-19 Hospital Kargil, the Deputy Commissioner was informed that the process will be completed by Friday, adding three types of fire extinguishers have been ordered including buckets for both District Hospital, Kargil and Dedicated COVID-19 Hospital.
As regards to Oxygen audit in the district, DC inquired from the concerned officers about the status of the availability of Oxygen cylinders and other necessary logistics.
He was informed that necessary logistics have been procured and a technician has been hired to look after the technical glitches and safety measures of the Oxygen cylinders and pipes. It was further given out that one Truenat Machine, one RNA Extractor Machine and four refrigerators have been procured and installed while two pediatric ventilators and 10 HFNOs which have already been ordered are expected to reach soon.
Furthermore, regarding the stock of disposable items available for the coming 4 months, the meeting was informed that out of 120000 RNA extraction kits, 120000 RTCPR kits (True PCR), 120000 VTMs, 2000 CBNAAT kits, 3000 Truenat Kits and 72000 RAPID been ordered, 49500 RNA extraction kits, 37000RTCPR kits (True PCR), 66750 VTMs, 2000 CBNAAT kits, 1000 Truenat Kits and 25000 have been received so far while the remaining quantity is expected to be received soon.
