KATHUA, Sept 29: Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Shahid Iqbal Choudhary has clarified that he has released funds to the tune of Rs 54 lakh to the SE Jammu- Kathua Circle for the restoration of damaged roads in his district and maintained that the claim of the SE that no funds have been released by DDC Kathua is incorrect.
While clarifying the report published in this paper on Sept 29 regarding `R&B projects Rs 170 cr demand for repair of roads, bridges in Jammu-Kathua,’ the DC said that Rs 54 lakhs have already been released to the SE PWD Jammu-Kathua for restoration works in the district. The Executive Engineer Basohli and Kathua have also furnished restoration reports. The DDC said that he has called an explanation from the SE in this concern.
