DC Kathua reviews progress of work on Jal Shakti Sector projects

KATHUA, Feb 6: To review the progress of work on water supply projects taken up by Jal Shakti Department, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kathua, Rahul Pandey chaired a meeting of concerned officers here in the Conference Hall of DC Office Complex today.
At the outset, the DC took a detailed review of the physical and financial progress of various works of Water Supply Schemes (WSSs) being implemented by different executing agencies.
The DC discussed with the concerned the Physical/financial progress of schemes and directed them to work on removal of all bottlenecks for smooth implementation of the schemes.
While taking scheme wise review of PHE Civil, Mechanical, Ground Water, Irrigation and Flood Control sectors, the DC called for saturating all the taken up projects under District Capex, DDC, BDC and PRI grants before the end of current fiscal.
Calling for focus attention of all the stakeholder departments for NABARD sponsored schemes, the DC directed XEN concerned to gear up their men and machinery to achieve the defined targets in stipulated time.
Regarding the issue of pending forest clearances, the DC directed XEN PHE Civil to organize a workshop for handholding of staff of Jal Shakti department by acquainting them with the procedures for uploading the data on the ‘Parivesh Portal’.
The DC emphasized that every effort has to be made to ensure that all schemes must be completed within set timelines in order to relieve the general public, especially from drinking water scarcity.
The meeting was attended by SE Jal Shakti, CPO, DFOs, Executive Engineer of Jal Shakti, and other concerned officers.
