KISHTWAR, Aug 16: The district Kishtwar witnessed a momentous event, as Dr. Devansh Yadav, the Deputy Commissioner, unveiled a state-of-the-art STEM Lab (Vigyan Shakti Lab) at HSS Sarthal besides inaugurated the Tiranga Library at ST Hostel Chatroo on the 77th Independence Day.
These inaugural ceremonies underlined the district administration’s unwavering commitment to nurturing education and fostering knowledge.
The inauguration ceremony coinciding with India’s 77th Independence Day, exemplified the district administration’s steadfast dedication to advancing education and providing a platform for student growth.
The inauguration of the HSS Sarthal STEM Lab was attended by prominent personalities including BDC Chairman Trigam Sri Chand, CEO Kishtwar Prehlad Bhagat, Principal HSS Sarthal Santosh Kumar, Headmaster of Girls HS Sarthal, and distinguished members of the community.
The STEM Lab, a significant venture valued at Rs 6.5 lakhs, funded under Secondary Education, holds the potential to redefine learning for students from grades 6 to 10. Vigyan Shakti Labs are poised to ignite scientific curiosity, promote exploration, and impart curated knowledge in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
The labs will facilitate hands-on learning experiences, including coding, robotics, and the fundamentals of physics, chemistry, and biology, aligned with the school syllabus. Moreover, resources like telescopes for astronomy enthusiasts and microscopes for biology students are expected to inspire creativity and deeper understanding.
Dr. Devansh Yadav emphasized that these labs symbolize aspiration, innovation, and progress. He highlighted the labs’ nurturing environment that encourages growth, critical thinking, and an enduring passion for science. Vigyan Shakti Labs were lauded as beacons of hope, illuminating a brighter future not only for Kishtwar but for the entire nation.
In a parallel event, the inauguration of the Tiranga Library at ST Hostel Chatroo was graced by Deputy Commissioner Dr. Devansh Yadav along with BDC Chairperson Chatroo Hamida Begum, DDC member Chatroo Rubina Begum, SDM Chatroo Showkat Hayat Matoo, BDO Inderwal Tasleem Wani, CEO Kishtwar, Principal HSS Chatroo, PRIs, and members of the ST community.
The library, a Rs 13 lakh initiative funded by untied funds, is poised to become a hub of knowledge and exploration.
The library’s establishment follows a series of libraries launched across Kishtwar, including the notable Kishtwar Reading Hub in GHSS Girls. The library will serve students of Chatroo subdivision and will offer open membership for all students. CEO Kishtwar pledged to provide essential exam preparation materials, further enhancing the library’s value.
