DC Kupwara reviews developmental works

KUPWARA, Apr 28: Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Khalid Jahangir today visited Kachama village to get a first-hand appraisal of various developmental works executed by different departments during 2016-17 and current fiscal under Special Central Assistance to Tribal Sub Plan (SCA to TSP) and Border Area Development Programme (BADP).
Concerned officers from various line-departments accompanied the DC on the occasion.
During his visit, the DC inspected GHS building Meelyal and various bridges and link-roads including Meelyal- Kachama road wherein on spot directions were issued to Executive Engineer R&B for initiating the process of blacktopping the road within a week’s time.
He also inspected Manznard Panchayat Ghar and Health Centre building that is under construction and issued direction for its completion within two months time. He also inspected the FCS&CA godown at Kachama and directed the ACD for expediting the pace of work so that it could be put to use at an earliest for the benefit of the people.
He also took stock of construction works for flood protection at Kachama Nallah being undertaken by I&FC Department.
The DC also inspected Service Reservoir with a capacity of 24000 gallons at Beron Bathu Kachama and directed the concerned to construct a pre-settling tank for safe and clean drinking water to the people of the area.
Accompanied by officials of the Education Department, DC also paid a visit to  GHSS Kralpora and various primary schools of the adjacent areas.
Later, the DC visited Handicrafts Crewel Training Centre and interacted with the staff and trainees there. He directed the concerned department for sustained efforts aimed at long-term self-employment and economic empowerment of female trainees.
