KUPWARA, Dec 27: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan today convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the progress under PM Vishwakarma scheme.
The scheme is aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and skill development among artisans and craftsmen to facilitate skill development training, access to modern tools and technologies and promote market linkages for artisans.
On the occasion, the DC enquired about the status of approval of beneficiaries at Gram Panchayat level and District level. She stressed upon the officers to clear pendencies at all levels to ensure the people are timely benefitted under the scheme.
The DC stressed on enhancing awareness programs to encourage more artisans to register under the scheme and make full use of its provisions. She emphasized the importance of the scheme in preserving and promoting local heritage while simultaneously boosting the livelihoods of artisans.
She urged the concerned officers to ensure that the benefits of the scheme reach all eligible beneficiaries in a timely manner.
It was informed that 373 loan cases of the artisans have been released so far and 365 are under process.
GM DIC, ACD, ACP, LDM, BDOs, Superintendent ITI Kupwara, CSC Manager and other concerned were present in the meeting.
