Leh, December 19, 2024: The Deputy Commissioner Leh Santosh Sukhdeve chaired a meeting in VC room, DC office Leh to deliberate on the land acquisition process for the proposed Leh Bypass Road, which is a vital infrastructure project for the region.
During the meeting, Consultancy M S Yuksel provided a detailed presentation on the alignment of the proposed bypass road. The presentation highlighted the technical details, proposed route, and benefits of the bypass. Key modalities for land acquisition under the National Highway (NH) framework were also discussed in detail.
The chairperson stressed the significance of the Leh Bypass Road as a critical link for vehicles traveling to and from Leh towards Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir. The project is expected to play a vital role in improving connectivity and reducing traffic congestion in the region.
Acknowledging the importance of early implementation, the chairperson directed all stakeholders to expedite the land acquisition process. Emphasis was placed on close coordination among departments to resolve any challenges and ensure timely progress.
The project, once completed, will enhance transportation efficiency, boost local economic activity, and benefit both residents and visitors. The meeting concluded with a call for swift and collaborative action to achieve the project’s early completion.
