Leh, April 11: The Deputy Commissioner Leh Santosh Sukhadeve convened a meeting to review and discuss consultancy services for construction of the proposed Leh Bypass Road at video conference room, DC Office Leh today.
The bypass road is planned to commence near Phyang village, close to the HPCL plant, and will connect to the Leh-Manali National Highway near Upshi.
The Deputy Commissioner Leh emphasized on the importance of executing the road construction project in a manner that ensures minimal inconvenience to the public. He reiterated that the administration is committed to safeguarding public interest and property, stressing that no religious land/ structure, residential property, or public assets will be harmed without proper consultation and consent from the concerned landowners.
DC Leh also assured that land disputes will be resolved amicably through dialogue, agreements, and legal procedures.
Chandra Prakash Tiwari, who joined the meeting via video conference, provided updates regarding the Upshi segment of the project. He highlighting that Upshi will serve as an 4-lane junction under the proposed plan.
The DC further instructed all concerned departments to expedite the preparation and directed concerned officers to coordinate with BRO officials for real-time updates on the progress of construction activities.
The meeting concluded with DC directing all departments to work in close coordination, maintain transparency, and ensure that the developmental work proceeds without causing unnecessary hardship to the local population.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Chief Engineer Project Himank and officers and officials from various departments and stakeholders.
