DC listens public grievances at Nagrota

JAMMU, Aug 31: To get first-hand account of the public grievances, Deputy Commissioner, Avny Lavasa today presided over the weekly Block Divas programme at Nagrota.
A large number of delegations from different Panchayats, besides scores of individuals apprised her about the problems being faced by them in day to day life.
The main demands projected were related to adequate supply of water and power, streamlining of Revenue department services, check on illegal mining, road connectivity to uncovered areas, provision of cleanliness and sanitation of area etc.
The DC gave a patient hearing to the delegations and passed on the spot directions to the concerned officers for early redressal of their genuine grievances. She assured that the highlighted issues of public importance will be taken up with higher authorities besides all the pendency and public service delivery slackness shall be reviewed thoroughly.
She also impressed upon the officers to work with zeal to achieve the targets and ensure the delivery of the benefits to the rural masses. She said that the motive of convening Block Diwas was to reach out to the people and understand their problems.
ACR Piyush Dhotra, Tehsildar Nagrota Babu Ram besides district and block level officers, PRI members and a large number of people were present at the program.
