SAMBA, Sept 25: Deputy Commissioner Samba, Sushma Chauhan today listened to the demands and issues of nomadic families recently shifted from AIIMS construction site and rehabilitated at Khoulpur (Near Rakh-Barotian) Vijaypur.
Deputy Commissioner took detailed review of housing plan, availability of electricity, water and other basic amenities at the present place of habitation. She also inspected pace of construction of the boundary wall taken up by CPWD (Executing agency) at the site and interacted with the rehabilitated families.
She informed that among the development works at the rehabilitation colony, those to be taken up on priority basis are construction of school building, flood protection work and construction of approach road besides expediting release of solatium and structure compensation amount to the affected tribal families.
On the occasion, the district administration in association with JK Bank, gifted a scooty to a specially-abled member of one of the nomadic family Anwar Hussain.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner informed that a special financial literacy camp will be organised for the tribal families for making them aware about various Government schemes.
