UDHAMPUR, Jan 5: An employee of DC Office Udhampur was knocked to death when his Scooty was hit by a Tata Winger on the National Highway near Modi Ground, Battal Ballian, here today.
The deceased was identified as Suram Singh (58), son of Ram Singh, resident of village Hartiyan Udhampur, a Multipurpose Worker in the office of Deputy Commissioner Jammu . He was riding a Scooty (JK14E-7512 when a Tata Winger bearing registration number JK02CM-4163, hit him.
Locals and police rushed to the spot and took the injured person to District Hospital Udhampur where doctors declared him as brought dead.
The police after completion of all the legal formalities and postmortem, handed over the body to family members of the deceased. Police have arrested driver of the Tata Winger and registered a case in this connection at Police Station Rehambal for further investigation.
