JAMMU, Feb 15: Deputy Commissioner Sushma Chauhan today issued order cancelling illegal entries on Forest land measuring 4945 Kanals and 12 Marlas at village Sunjwan in Jammu as these were in violation of Jammu and Kashmir Land Revenue Act SVT 1996 and Jammu and Kashmir Forest (Conservation) Act 1997.
While issuing the orders, the Deputy Commissioner held that illegal entries of private individuals on the Forest land are completely illegal, non-permissible and unsustainable under any circumstances.
The DC has directed all the Tehsildars of Jammu district to furnish the details of illegal entries of private persons over Forest land, State Land and Kah-Charai land within week’s time so that the same are expunged from the Revenue record at an earliest.
Similarly illegal entries of private individuals over State land measuring 331 kanal and 03 Marlas in village Chowadi, Jammu were also ordered to be cancelled/ expunged from Revenue record by the Deputy Commissioner, Jammu.
It is pertinent to mention here that Financial Commissioner, Revenue, had instructed all the Deputy Commissioners to have the audit of their Revenue record conducted and illegal entries upon Forest land, State land and Kah-Charai land besides lands reserved for fodder purposes (Gair Mumkin Jad) be expunged from the Revenue record and same is being closely monitored in regular intervals.
