DC pays surprise visit to District Hospital, initiates enquiry against absentees

REASI, May 20: The Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Indu Kanwal Chib paid a surprise visit to the District Hospital Reasi on Sunday midnight and initiated enquiry against the absentees besides ordering stoppage of salary of two doctors for dereliction of duty.
The DC visited the hospital around 11:30 pm on Sunday night. Right upon reaching, the Deputy Commissioner checked the attendance register and found it improperly maintained. It was observed that some of the staff was absent from duty. The DC was appalled to find that the list of doctors on duty was also not displayed and the same was found locked inside the Superintendent’s office.
The doctors scheduled to be on duty were immediately summoned and questioned by the DC. Two doctors, namely Dr Rekha and Dr Pooja did not bother to pick phone in dereliction of duty.
This morning, Tehsildar Reasi, Mirza was deputed to inspect the diagnostic laboratory in the hospital. The Tehsildar reported that the lab was opened an hour late by the technician thereby causing much trouble to the patients.
According to an official spokesperson, an enquiry under ADDC Reasi, Ramesh Chander has been initiated to look into the irregularities and propose relevant corrective measures and to take suitable action. In the meantime, salary of Dr Rekha and Dr Pooja is to be stopped till further orders.
