POONCH, June 23: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Inder Jeet on Thursday conducted an extensive tour of Sub Division Mendhar to take stock of loss due to recent rains and inspect the progress of major Projects going on besides digitization of Jamma bandis.
SDM Mendhar, Jahangir Khan and other Sub Divisional officers accompanied the Deputy Commissioner during the tour.
The Deputy Commissioner visited Village Sandote where a foot bridge collapsed a few days back. The Deputy Commissioner issued directions to AE/AEE of PWD to prepare a DPR immediately for the restoration of the damaged bridge.
Meanwhile, SDM Mendhar was directed to get an inquiry conducted in the instant matter and submit the factual report.
The Deputy Commissioner also visited the construction sites of two motorable bridges Viz Jaba, Behra and Ekalavya School to inspect the progress of work. He took serious note of the slow pace of work and passed strict instructions to the concerned officers of the department to expedite the work and achieve the targets in a set timeline without any fail. The Ekalavya School is a double storey building where 16 class rooms at ground floor are at the verge of finishing. The concerned officers /executing agency was directed to immediately tender the balance work for its early completion. The pace of work of residential blocks was also inspected.
SDM Mendhar, Jahangir Khan was directed to closely monitor the work progress of the projects on a weekly basis and apprise him accordingly.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the progress of digitization of Jamabandies in the Sub division Mendhar.
He also visited Government Degree College Surankote where he reviewed the digitization progress of Jamabandis.
The Deputy Commissioner instructed the officials/officers of both sub divisions for expediting the quality check.
SDM Surankote, Naheem un Nissa Bhatti, Tehsildar Surankote, Sheraz Ahmed and other concerned officers were also present.
