POONCH, Dec 5: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Poonch, Vikas Kundal today chaired a meeting to review the implementation of PMAY (Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana)-Urban scheme in district.
At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner took a detailed review of the physical and financial status of the PMAY- Urban cases identified and approved in the district.
It was informed that as many as 631 PMAY- Urban cases were sanctioned in district Poonch of which 418 houses are complete, while remaining are at the construction stage.
The meeting was also apprised about release of installments to the verified beneficiaries and expenditure made so-far under the scheme.
The DC directed the concerned officers to ensure that the guidelines are followed in letter and spirit so that all genuine eligible beneficiaries are covered under the scheme in the district.
He instructed the Executing officer to ensure completion of all houses within stipulated time and instructed to verify 15 beneficiary cases personally on a daily basis.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner visited Ward No. 11 of Poonch Municipal Committee and congratulated a beneficiary who built his house by availing PMAY Urban Scheme benefits. The interactions between the beneficiaries and the DC were remarkably candid. The beneficiaries also shared their heartfelt gratitude to the Government for such initiatives.
