POONCH, Mar 17: Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal convened a crucial meeting today to assess the progress impact of the self-employment schemes, including the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) and the Rural Employment Generation Programme (REGP).
The Deputy Commissioner conducted a detailed case-wise review of sanctioned cases and disbursements under these schemes. Officers from the relevant departments provided updates on the status of beneficiary coverage in the district.
He emphasized on spreading mass awareness for maximizing coverage for unemployed youth and providing proper guidance to potential beneficiaries. He instructed officers to collaborate effectively to enroll the maximum number of youth under these self-employment initiatives.
The meeting also focused on addressing any issues related to disbursement to avoid pending cases, ensuring the swift implementation of employment-related programs.
The meeting was attended by key officials, including the General Manager DIC Poonch, Deputy Director Employment, District Officer KVIB and representatives from local banks.
