DC Poonch reviews progress on development works

POONCH, June 24: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M. Choudhary today reviewed the progress of various developmental works in district here at a meeting held here today.
The meeting deliberated on developmental scenario under district capex, PRI grants, DDC grants, panchayat ranking, and the overall district’s performance in various developmental works.
The meeting also reviewed the status of tendering for works under district capex budgets, ranking of panchayats and blocks under aspirational developmental programmes, and the district’s ranking in the deliverables for the financial year 2022-23.
The DC also discussed the importance of various schemes and programmes such as Atal Pension Yojana and Jan Dhan Yojana, and urged officials to ensure that eligible beneficiaries are enrolled for these schemes.
The DC also emphasized the need to improve the ranking of the district in the District Good Governance Index (DGGI), which is a tool used to assess the governance performance of districts across the country. He also directed officers to re-evaluate the ranking and coordinate with revenue authorities to ensure that accurate data is used for the assessment.
In addition, the DC discussed the importance of completing all DDC and BDC works at the earliest, and urged officers to prioritize these works.
The Deputy Commissioner also directed the officiers to upload maximum events on AKAM, which is a platform used by the government to showcase various developmental works.
He directed that all government buildings in Poonch town should be painted in Tiranga colours, which is the Indian national flag’s colours, and urged officials to display thought-provoking messages related to Azadi ka Amrit Mohatsav, which is a nationwide programme to commemorate 75 years of India’s independence.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Tahir Mustafa Malik, General Manager DIC, Dr.Zakir Hussain, Chief Planning Officer Poonch, Maqsood Ahmed, PO ICDS, Khalid Hussain Wafa and others.
