RAJOURI, Dec 4: In a significant move to ensure transparency and accountability in government offices, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, conducted a surprise raid at the office of Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) in Rajouri late this evening.
During on the spot inspection, some private individuals were found inside official rooms, raising serious questions about unauthorized access to sensitive areas. Additionally, a nearby computer shop was sealed after official documents belonging to the ARTO office were discovered on its premises.
Taking swift action, the Deputy Commissioner directed the immediate initiation of disciplinary proceedings and ordered a detailed inquiry into the matter. The inquiry aims to identify lapses, if any, on the part of the office staff and the involvement of external parties in handling official documents.
“The administration is committed to ensuring that public offices maintain the highest standards of integrity and accountability. Any violation of these principles will not be tolerated, and strict action will be taken against those found guilty,” the Deputy Commissioner said.
An official said that further details regarding the inquiry and any subsequent action will be shared once the investigation is completed. The Deputy Commissioner also emphasized the need for strict protocols to prevent unauthorized access to government offices and documents.
