REASI, July 24: Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Vishesh Mahajan, conducted Block Divas in the remote area of Block Thuroo, Panchayat Budhan. The Block diwas witnessed the active participation of district and sectoral officers from various line departments showcasing a united front in addressing public concerns.
During the Block Divas, Deputy Commissioner engaged with the residents of Thuroo Block, listening attentively to their grievances and ensuring on-the-spot resolutions.
He conducted a comprehensive review of various sectors, including Education, Agriculture, Social Welfare, Revenue, Public Health Engineering (PHE), and Power Development Department (PDD).
In the education sector, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of improving the quality of education. He instructed teachers to conduct weekly tests to monitor and evaluate student progress, aiming to enhance educational standards and outcomes.
Addressing the agricultural sector, he stressed the importance of crop rotation to enhance soil fertility and recommended the use of High Yielding Varieties (HYVs) to increase farmers’ income. He directed the Agriculture Department to commence a survey immediately and initiate necessary actions to support these practices.
Furthermore, the Deputy Commissioner instructed the Block Development Officer (BDO) Thuroo and the local community to focus on creating durable assets rather than merely developing lanes and drains.
He also directed the departments of PWD, PHE and PDD to efficiently cater to the needs of the local residents, ensuring that essential services are delivered effectively and promptly.
PO Poshan Mohd. Anwar Banday, ACD Pardeep Kumar, SDM Dharmari Tariq Aziz, Xen JPDCL and PWD, SDM Dharmari, Chief Horticulture Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer and other district officers were present.
