REASI, May 10: Deputy Commissioner Reasi Babila Rakwal today convened a meeting of District Skill Committee in which a detailed review of the training skills imparted by Polytechnic, ITI, Social Welfare department, Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute, Agriculture department, Rural Self Employment training institute and National Rural Livelihood Mission Reasi were discussed .
The concerned Officers of the departments presented the skill/ trainings imparted under various schemes in the last financial year and the proposals put forth for the current year under various schemes. Superintendent ITI informed that the Institute has been adopted by NHPC Salal Power Station, Jyotipuram and every year a good number of passed out trainees are selected under Apprenticeship Scheme in the project who are adjusted in the good Institutions thereafter.
The Deputy Commissioner, Reasi directed the Principal Polytechnic Reasi to furnish the details of the meritorious passed out students, so that possibilities are explored to get them adjusted in the Private Companies doing construction works for Railways in District Reasi.
Deputy Commissioner, Reasi exhorted upon the Officers to implement the Skill Training Schemes in letter & spirit, so that the maximum number of un-employed youth can be benefitted. She also directed District Social Welfare Officer, Reasi to prepare data base of the persons with disabilities in the District so that avenues for imparting skill training and to make them self sustainable can be explored.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, General Manager DIC, District Social Welfare Officer, Director RSETI, District Manager SC/ST Corp, Principal Polytechnic, Superintendent ITI and other District Officers of the concerned departments.
