POONCH, Oct 29: Deputy Commissioner, Poonch Mohammad Harun Malik today released Rs 1 lakh ex-gratia in favour of the Next of the Kin (NoK) of cross border shelling victim Asma Begum.
The Deputy Commissioner along with a team of officers including SDM and Tehsildar also visited shelling affected areas of Golhad and Balakote areas of Mendhar to take stock of the situation in the backdrop of continuous firing along the LoC.
The Deputy Commissioner along with team of officers remained stationed in the area till the frequency of shelling reduced to a minimum.
Meanwhile, the DC handed over Rs 1 lakh as ex gratia relief to the family of Asma Begum, wife of Abdul Rehman resident of Malikpur Mendha who was killed in cross border shelling yesterday.
The Deputy Commissioner also asked the local administration to remain alert and immediately reach to the people in case of escalation in firing incidents along LoC areas.
