DC reviews construction work of Jammu Ring Road

JAMMU, July 15: Ramesh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner (DC), Jammu reviewed the progress in respect of construction of Ring Road, Jammu by paying on spot visit.
There are total 50 villages that are coming under the alignment of Ring Road in Jammu district and land acquisition process in all the villages has been initiated. The Deputy Commissioner informed about bottlenecks with regard to disbursement of payment to the claimants. He directed the SDM (South) to complete the process of disbursement of payment to the claimants/rightful land owners by the end of July 2018.
It was informed by the Project Director, NHAI about progress and execution of work as well as the hindrances being faced in execution of the same. The Deputy Commissioner directed the Project Director, NHAI to have close liaison with concerned SDM/Tehsildars and with line departments so that the work of construction of Ring Road could be executed smoothly.
Regarding shifting of utilities that are coming under the alignment of Ring Road, Jammu which needs to be shifted immediately, the Deputy Commissioner directed the Project Director, NHAI for having close coordination with all the line departments like PHE, PDD, PWD(R&B), Irrigation and Flood Control etc. so that the project is completed as early as possible. The SDM (South) was also directed to facilitate the Project Director, NHAI and other departments.
The DC also visited the site identified for establishment of Emergency Operation Centre and directed the Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) for preparation of revenue papers for onward submission to the higher authorities.
During the tour, the Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Project Director, NHAI, SDM (South), Assistant Commissioner (Revenue), Jammu, Tehsildars and officers of different departments.
