DODA, Aug 28: The Deputy Commissioner, Doda, Simrandeep Singh today reviewed the functioning of JNV, Arnora and took several decisions which have been plaguing the smooth functioning of the School.
The DC directed the Rural Development Department to develop five separate plans under convergence mode focusing on the construction of tiled pathways from the hostels to students’ mess and academic block along with covered canopies to protect children from rains; development of playgrounds; removal of weeds and wild grasses under MGNREGA; completion of unfinished dormitories and staff quarters; development of internal drainage network of the school.
Besides the DC also directed the JKPCC to complete the electrification works and the PHE to complete dedicated water supply scheme to the school.
It may be mentioned that JNV, Doda is the oldest JNV in J&K which still caters to the children of Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban regions.
The DC was also briefed that the local LPG dealer in Ghat block of Doda district was not providing home delivery of LPG cylinders to school for past almost two years. The DC issued directions to AD, CAPD to immediately work out the amount that JNV authorities have spent on transporting the LPG cylinders and ensure that the dealer deposits the amount in the school fund within one week. It is estimated that JNV has spend more than Rs 50,000 on this account which the dealer is now bound to return to the school.
