RAJOURI, Apr 1: Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Kundal chaired a meeting to review the progress of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) schemes in the district today. The meeting discussed physical and financial progress and sought updates from concerned officials.
Out of 293 approved JJM schemes, work has been allotted for 228 and 89 are in progress. The laying of piped network is progressing well with 970 kms laid against a target of 13520 Kms.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasised the need for quality work, timely completion and proper supervision. He urged stakeholders to focus on proper use and maintenance of water supply systems. Increased transparency and effectiveness in monitoring works, including functioning of NGOs as Implementation Support Agencies (ISAs), was also stressed.
The Deputy Commissioner called for outcome-based efforts and strict adherence to timelines for successful completion of all projects under JJM. He stated that successful implementation will provide access to safe drinking water for the rural population and positively impact their health, hygiene and socio-economic development.
The meeting was attended by several officers including Chief Planning Officer, Mohammad Khurshid; Superintending Engineer Hydraulics, Bhram Jyoti Sharma; Executive Engineer Jal Shakti Rajouri, Ashwini Khajuria; Executive Engineer Jal Shakti Nowshera, Vipin Kumar; Executive Engineer Jal Shakti Mechanical, Manmohan Singh and others.
