JAMMU, May 8: Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Kumar Rajeev Ranjan today reviewed arrangements put in place by the district administration for ensuing holy month of Ramzan.
The DC held threadbare discussions with the officers of various departments and representatives of religious organizations.
The participants projected their demands related to water and power supply, security and sought immediate measures for improving sanitation and strict check on quality and rates of essentials.
The DC directed the concerned departments to make adequate arrangements to provide better amenities to the people and intensify market checking to keep check on overcharging and of daily use items. He asked Jammu Municipal Corporation to intensify sanitation operations and ensure cleanliness in and around the mosques.
The DDC directed the PHE, PDD, FCS&CA Departments to constitute committees for receiving and redressing the complaints and other issues.
He directed officers to work in synergy to carry out market checks and monitor quality of edibles like mutton and poultry. He also stressed on keeping regulation of the rates of commodities. He asked the concerned officers of FCS&CA to ensure adequate supply of ration during Ramzan.
PDD and PHE departments were directed to ensure uninterrupted power and water during Sehri and Iftar to avoid inconvenience to the people.
He asked all the departments to ensure adequate facilities provided by their respective departments.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Comms-sioner, Arun Manhas, CMO Jammu, SDMs, tehsildars and officers from PDD, PHE, Municipality and Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department.
