SAMBA, July 17: Deputy Commissioner Samba Anuradha Gupta today visited forward border posts of Ramgarh area and inspected the ongoing restoration & protection works along the banks of River Basanter.
Chairman, District Development Council Keshav Dutt Sharma along with Anita Choudhary, member DDC Ramgarh (B); Additional District Development Commissioner, Tilak Raj Shastri; Sub Divisional Magistrate, C P Kotwal, besides officers of flood control department, revenue and local members of PRIs were also present.
During the visit, she inspected protection works in Khamore, Rangroor, Nathwal villages, besides BSF forward posts of Tanwar, Balhar, Malu Chak .
It was informed that restoration and protection works on each side of river Basanter is on with placement of new crates, earthworks, placement of stones, sands, cement etc.
The Deputy Commissioner Samba directed the executing agency to ensure protection of adjoining villages and agriculture fields on priority.
Local Sarpanchs and BSF personnel also appraised Deputy Commissioner Samba about the issues being faced in the locality. Deputy Commissioner Samba assured that all genuine demands will be resolved at the earliest.
During the inspection Manu Magotra, Assistant Commandant BSF, Kamal Singh Assistant Commandant besides other officials were also present.
