SAMBA, Sept 18: Deputy Commissioner Samba, Rohit Khajuria today chaired a meeting to review the functioning of industries and allied sectors in the district.
General Manager District Industries Centre, Sansar Chand, Chief Planning Officer, Sukhleen Kour, District Officer KVIB, Harvinder Singh, Assistant Director Handloom, Sonam Verma besides other officials attended the meeting.
District Development Commissioner was appraised about the status of land availability in Phase II of Industries Department, PMEGP cases and subsidy cases.
The General Manager informed that 1036 Kanal land has been allotted to the prospective entrepreneurs, while and 37 PMEGP cases have been approved this financial year.
The DDC stressed upon promoting eco-friendly units besides encouraging handicrafts activities like carpet weavings, bag manufacturing and others artesian based activities. He laid emphasis upon including un-employed youth in employment generation schemes.
Later, District Development Commissioner also chaired a meeting of Agriculture Department and reviewed the status of the departmental schemes. He laid emphasis upon spreading awareness about agriculture schemes for the welfare of farmers.
