SAMBA, July 1: In response to demands by the residents of the area, District Development Commissioner Samba , Sheetal Nanda conducted an extensive tour of Samba town today including Samba Fort, Town Hall , Chowhatta Baazar, New Bus Stand etc.
ADDC Samba Vivek Sharma, ADC Pawan Sharma, Additional SP, XEn PWD, E.O Municipal committee and other officials accompanied the DDC during the tour.
Locals of the area projected their demands regarding maintenance and beautification of Samba Fort, shifting of Bus Stand, maintenance of road from New Bus Stand to Main Bazaar, sanitation, maintenance of lane drain at Arazi etc.
While giving patient hearing to the problems projected by the people , the District Administration assured that every possible step will be taken to redress the issues and gave on spot directions to XEn PWD to improve road connectivity and maintain the roads. EO Municipality was directed to improve sanitation, maintain cleanliness and further instructions were passed to EO to get all drains of the town cleaned so that water logging does not take place during ensuing monsoon season.
DDC also visited Town Hall where people raised the issue of construction of Auditorium. XEn PWD was directed to prepare a plan for construction of Auditorium. The people were also assured that beautification of Samba Fort will be taken up as a properly planned project.
