DC STD calls for strict vigil on tax evasion

JAMMU, Aug 20: Deputy Commissioner State Taxes Department (STD) Central, Jammu Sonu Pargal today chaired a meeting of concerned enforcement officers and reviewed the achievements under revenue targets for the year 2024-25 up to July ,2024.
During the meeting, he emphasized on devising a strategy for revenue augmentation during remaining months of the financial year. He emphasized to conduct enforcement activities round the clock in order to achieve the revenue targets for the year 2024-25.
He asked the enforcement officers to enhance e-way bills verifications and to generate input basis for laying enforcement activity especially at Railway and Airport.He directed the field functionaries to be in proper uniform especially during nakas.
He also asked them to keep a close vigil on tax evasion prone commodities like tobacco, scrap, TMT, mobile, car accessories, electric goods,etc. and the export/import of Tobacco through road transport and through railway to be kept under strict surveillance.
STOs were asked to submit geo-tagged photographs during seizure at nakas. Earlier, Manpreet Kour, Assistant Commissioner, briefed the attendees about agenda of the meeting. STOs, Inspectors and other field functionaries were present in the meeting.
