BARAMULLA, Jan 23: District Development Commissioner, Baramulla, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone, today chaired a meeting of Executive Engineers of essential departments, Chief Executive Officer Gulmarg and other officers at Gulmarg.
During the meeting, the DDC directed the concerned officers to strictly adhere to the guidelines of High Court and ensure that no illegal construction takes place at Gulmarg.
The DDC, highlighting the importance of Gulmarg in State’s tourism map, stressed upon the fact that prevention of illegal construction in the tourist spot is essential for both tourism industry as well as for maintaining ecological and environmental balance.
He also directed the Mechanical Engineering Department to ensure that connectivity must be restored in all the roads of the sub-district and it must be ensured that no habitation is left unconnected. He impressed upon the concerned officers to ensure that snow clearance is completed at all the roads on priority basis.
Besides a thorough review of all the essential facilities including electricity, water supply, road connectivity amid the fresh snowfall and stock of other requirements including the availability of food stocks was taken during the meeting.
