POONCH, Feb 12: During a surprise visit to various Government institutions/hospitals in Mandi and Loran area today, District Development Commissioner Poonch, Rahul Yadav placed four employees under suspension and stopped salary of 27 others.
Official sources said that on the basis of public complaints regarding habitual absenteeism of the Government employees in hospitals, schools, CAPD, PDD, PHE, Agriculture, SWD, Tehsil and other offices, the Deputy Commissioner decided to pay a surprise visit to the area.
During the visit DC found many employees absent from their duties. Later, he siezed the attendance record. He also locked the main gate of Teshil office Mandi at around 10.15 am after he found the staff absent there.
While talking to the media the DC said that the proper enquiry will be initiated against the absentees. He directed the officials there to work with honesty and serve the people at large.
People appreciated the surprise visit of the Deputy Commissioner and appealed him to conduct such visits frequently.
Meanwhile, after scrutiny of the attendance record of various offices, DC ordered explanation of BMO Mandi and stopped salary of 27 employees of Health, CAPD, ICDS, RDD and Education and suspended four officials of Health and Education departments. Two officials of the PHC Plera which was found locked, were placed under suspended. They are- Senior Pharmacist- Khursheed Ahmed Bandey and FMPHW Nirmal Kumari.
Seven employees of Agriculture Department, Mandi found absent were- Anees Suhail I/C AEO, Mahesh Gupta AEA, Vishal Gupta AEA, Amarpal Singh AEA, Mohd Rashid JAEO, Dheeraj AEA and Nazir Hussain Storekeeper; three from Treasury Mandi were-Abdul Hamid Accoutant, Mohd Sabteen- Auditor and Tariq Mehmood Orderly; two from Horticulture Deptt were -Qasim Hussain HTG-4 and Ghulam Sabar I/C HTG 4, 4 from RDD office Mandi were- and Section Officer Mohd Saad, Sr Assistant Mohd Din, Jr Asstt Zakir Hussain and DRW Manzoor Ahmed; 3 from ICDS office Mandi were- CDPO Naiem Ul-Nisa, Jr Asstt Riaz Ahmed and Senior Assistant Riaz Ahmed-II; TSO Mandi Subhash Suri, 3 from ZEO office Mandi were Mohd Younis, Khalid Mehmood DEO, Abdul Hamid- peon and Abdul Ahad Jr Asstt from PDD Sub Division, Mandi.
