KATHUA, Aug 6: District Development Commissioner Kathua Ramesh Kumar today visited Nari Niketan and took stock of facilities being provided to the inmates.
He also distributed school uniform and bags among the inmates provided by M/s Satyam Cements under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC informed that district administration has taken various steps to provide best possible care as well as educational opportunities to the inmates.
Earlier, he interacted with inmates and enquired about the facilities being provided by the authorities. He visited different wards and inspected kitchen and store.
Responding to the demand of inmates, the DC directed District Social Welfare Officer to take up repair of bathroom and ensure regular water supply to Nari Niketan.
He also directed for repair of windows and provision of books and shoes to inmates.
General Manager DIC Kathua, M Y. Malik also accompanied the DC.
