UDHAMPUR, Jan 22: Dr. Piyush Singla, District Development Commissioner Udhampur bagged National e-Governance Award (Gold Medal) given by DARPG, Government of India for Project SAKOON.
This IT platform was conceptualised and implemented by Deputy Commissioner, Singla in Udhampur district.
This enables quick capturing, processing and disbursement of relief payment to sufferers of various natural disasters covered under SDRF in time bound manner. For Jammu and Kashmir UT, where natural disasters are very frequent this solution helps people in need and distress. The project has been selected after rigorous scrutiny at national level. The solution have also been shared by the district with IT Department.
This is first National e-Governance award bagged by any district after formation of UT.
