JAMMU, Jan 11: District Congress Committee Jammu (Urban) today paid floral tributes to former Prime Minister, Lal Bahadur Shastri.
In a meeting of the DCC held here today at PCC headquarters Shaheedi Chowk, under the chairmanship of Anil Chopra, District president, rich tributes were paid by the Congress leaders and other DCC and BCC functionaries to the former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shasti on his 51st death anniversary.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Chopra recalled his contributions and said that Late Shastri was symbol of honesty and simplicity. He was the man of high values and principles. His slogan of ‘Jai Jawan Jai Kissan’ reflected his statesmanship and the respect enjoyed by him in the hearts of countrymen.
