KARGIL, Jan 28: The members of District Congress Committee raised various issues which the people are facing.
Addressing a press conference, the members of the DCC Kargil said that there is shortage of essential commodities in Kargil market, due to which the people are suffering.
They demanded UT Headquarter on equal share basis, opening of Zojila Tunnel, airport at Kargil, issue of CPWD should be redressed and Directorates sanctioned for Kargil District stationed at Leh.
No officers from Kargil District should be posted in the office of Lieutenant Governor, both LAHDCs of Kargil and Leh should be empowered.
They said that the recruitment power from District administration and LAHDCs have been snatched by MHA and given to LG. They added that the Planning and Development Board for UT Ladakh was constituted under the chairmanship of LG without taking consent from stakeholders of both Districts.
They informed that the many life savings machines of DHK have been damaged and demanded adequate stock of the medicines.
They also demanded supply of vegetables for ration card holders.
