DDB approves Rs 71.45 cr annual plan for Ramban

RAMBAN, Sept 3: The District Development Board, which met here today under the chairmanship of Minister for Urban Development and Urban Local Bodies, Nawang Rigzin Jora, approved an annual plan worth Rs 71.45 crore for 2014-15 for the district with Rs. 23.22 crore as revenue component and Rs. 48.23 crore as capital component.
Minister of State, Revenue Relief and Rehabilitation, Aijaz Ahmed Khan, Minister of State for Power, Rural Development and Information Vikar Rasool Wani and MLA Ramban, Ashok Kumar, were among others present in the meeting.
The meeting highlighted the achievements registered under all sectors for the year 2013-14 besides deliberating upon various issues envisaging further streamlining of Government’s working profile.
It was informed that an amount of Rs. 1060.90 lakh has been allocated for Roads and Buildings Department which includes Rs. 948.40 lakh as NABARD loan and Rs. 112.25 lakh as projectised state share while Rs. 627.83 lakh comprising Rs. 509.37 lakh as Revenue Component and Rs. 118.46 lakh as Capital Component has been allocated for Elementary Education. Besides, for secondary education viz, strengthening of high schools, upgradation of middle schools, an amount of Rs. 322.29 lakh has been earmarked for 2014-15. Likewise, Rs 696.93 lakh and Rs. 439.47 lakh have been kept for Centrally Sponsored Schemes of education like SSA and RMSA. Under Power sector, an amount of Rs. 21.56 lakh has been allocated.
Under Health Sector, an outlay of Rs. 402.03 lakh has been approved which consists of Rs. 239 lakh with projectised capital as one of the components.
It was also informed that 380 differently abled persons have been targeted to receive scholarships while Rs. 38.30 lakh have been approved for the welfare of the Scheduled Castes and OBCs in the district under Social Welfare sector. Similarly, an outlay of Rs. 117.75 lakh has been earmarked for ICDS sector.
Meanwhile, Rs 90.32 lakh have been approved for providing self employment to the unemployed youth of the district during current financial year.
