JAMMU, May 12: DDC Chairman, Jammu, Bharat Bhushan Bodhi today laid stress on 100 percent utilization of district Capex budget approved for the current fiscal.
Chairing the District Development Council (DDC) meeting here at PWD Guest House, the DDC Chairman approved the Rs 111 crore Capex Budget for the current fiscal for Jammu district.
DC Jammu, Avny Lavasa and other sectoral officers were present in the meeting wherein the DDC Chairman asked the concerned officials to ensure early estimation and tendering of the development projects in the district to make it sure that 100 percent utilization of funds is guaranteed. He said that officers concerned should plan the strategy in a manner that not even a dime is allowed to go unutilized like in the past cases when funds used to collapse due to lethargy and dilly dallying policy adopted by the officials showing indifference towards their duties and responsibilities.
Bharat Bhushan maintained that the funds allotted are meant for the development of the region to ensure convenience and adequate services to the masses and any delinquency in the spending will tantamount to action against those responsible for unaccomplished jobs or underperformance.
During the meeting, threadbare discussions were held related to the District Plan for the current fiscal. The Chairman laid stress on achieving all targets through utilization of 100 per cent Capex budget for the development of Jammu district.
The DDC members raised several issues related to development issues of several departments including schools and Jal Shakti Department for regular supply of water.
The DDC Chairman exhorted upon the officers presented in the meeting to complete all pending works and also stressed up carrying out necessary development works in a time bound manner so that the problems being faced by general public would be addressed at the earliest.
Vice Chairperson DDC, Jammu, Suraj Singh, DDC Members, Suresh Kumar, Bhushan Lal Bral, Prof Gharu RamBhagat, Sharda Bhau, Devender Kumar, Vidya Mottan and Geetu Aulakh, ADDC Jammu Ramesh Kumar, SE Jal Shakti Department, Vivek, SE PWD, ACD, Preeti Sharma and sectoral officers of Government departments were also present.
