BASHOLI, June 9: DDC Chairman Kathua, Col. Mahan Singh (Retd) here today paid tribute to Amar Shaheed Rajinder Singh on his 25th martyrdom day at Marta Nagrota Chowk.
Hundreds of veterans, along with locals and family members of the Kargil war hero attended the event.
Capt Des Raj, Capt Nek Ram, Capt Kishori Lal, Rakesh Shukla, Ajit Singh and Archana Badhwal along with Veer Nari and spouse of the martyr were also present on the occasion.
The event began with the hoisting of Tri-colour by Mahan Singh, the chief guest and this was followed by recitation of National Anthem, lighting of ceremonial lamp and laying of Pushpanjali.
Speaking on the occasion, Col Mahan Singh said that Shaheed Rajinder Singh was a brave soldier who created history by leading from the front and making supreme sacrifice for the motherland.
Col Singh urged everyone to remember these heroes as their sacrifices facilitated us to sleep peacefully at night.
Later, the DDC Chairman also interacted with the veterans, residents and family members of the martyr.
